The Graduates!

Thursday was our Kindergarten Awards Ceremony!  The end of the year is always bittersweet!  I LOVE my class this year but.....I LOVE my summer, too! =)

5 more school days!  Then.....sweet summertime!

Awwwwww......man!

This is what happens when you tell 21 Kinders that they are NOT going swimming after all!  After months and months and months and months of NO rain we had a very bad storm blow in about the time we were to go to the pool for our pool party!  Needless to say they were SO disappointed!  We will go the last week of school, though!  Wheeew! And.....we SURE did need the rain!

I just love them!  They always turn out sooo good and actually look like them!

We Love Eating BUGS!?!

Today we made our edible bugs!  I layed out a whole lot of edible "stuff"!  They got to pick and choose and build a bug.  They had to make sure it had the parts that made it an insect: 3 body parts, 2 eyes, 2 antennae, and 6 legs.  They then drew their bug and wrote about it.  They turned out great!  My smarties had a GREAT time with this fun activity.  A big "THANKS" to all of the parents who brought the fixins for our BUGS!

Going Buggy!

We have been studying all kinds of bugs this week.  We have talked about ladybugs and read The Very Grouchy Ladybug.  We then made our ladybug clocks.

We also completed our ladybug math and spring fact family books.  These kids are such smarties!

We then moved on to bees and ants!  We read factual information books about both and then compared the two!

Word Families

The kids had their own individual ant hill books to record ALL of the word families in!

We then made our dragonflies.....which turned out sooo stinkin' cute! We read about dragonflies and made an information chart!

Then we learned all about the praying mantis!  The kids really enjoyed learning about these!  The praying mantis' were my FAVORITE!!  Holy Cow!!! They are tooooo cute!!!!

We also learned about fireflies!

The kids have REALLY learned a lot about insects this week!  Tomorrow we will wrap it up by making our own edible bugs!!!!  CUTE pictures to come!  Check back tomorrow!
