It's Circus Time!

Welcome to the greatest show on earth!
We have been learning about circus animals in kindergarten!  We wrapped it up with our famous kindergarten circus!  Here is our adventure in pictures!
We learned about giraffes and zebras and then compared the two.
Idea from Deanna Jump's Zoo Animal unit!

We read great non-fiction books about each animal and then made them!

They especially loved learning and making their monkeys!  I wonder why?

I made a giant ringmaster on our door to graph our favorite circus act!

Our display outside our room!  Under the big top!

We tasted real peanuts in the shell and graphed if we liked elephant food!
They mostly loved them!  They rocked my socks off with all that they came up when analyzing our data!  What smarties!!!!  I did not prompt ANY of these answers!  WOW!

We made circus tents and drew what we would be in the circus and then wrote about what we would be doing!

Our super cute clowns!  They loved designing their own faces!

Our word wall on our bathroom door!

Our lions can, have, are chart!

These are the super great non-fiction books I bought for this unit!  We read elephants, monkeys, giraffes, and other great books for lions, and alligators!
The lion, elephant, and bears!

The jumping dogs!

The jugglers, strongman, and clown!

May all your days be circus days!!!!!

The seals!  I did not get a picture of my darling acrobats and tightrope walkers! One of my sweet moms came up and did all of their hair!!!  They were still getting dolled up!  :( Boo!

Needless to say....we had a ball learning about the circus!!!!!

I will leave you with a picture of our class on our Easter egg hunt!!!!! (since I never got that on here!)

Going Buggy!

We have been busy entamologists in our classroom!  Studying insects has been so much fun!!!
We read tons of books about ants and then made an ant to write information about.

We read this precious book and wrote about whether we would step on an ant!

We read several cool books about bees and made a bee to write about.

We compared ants and bees.  There are a lot of similarities and differences.

We learned about dragonflies and made one....They turned out precious!

We read 3 cute books about fireflies!  They loved making the firefly!

We worked on ant hill word families in our spare time.

They made a cute bug to use for graphing whether bugs are cool or creepy.

This is our spring mural outside our classroom!

Today we made praying mantises....super cute!
The weather has been so beautiful! Don't you think?  We have been taking extended recess time!  :)
Spring fever has hit the amazing monkeys BIG time!
Happy Spring!

What A "LOVELY" Day!

We had such a fun Valentines Day today!  Here are a few activities we have been doing leading up to the big day!
First we had to prepare our bags so we could begin the process of mailing our valentines!  We had the choice to make:
a bear,

a rabbit,

or a frog!!!

They turned out super cute!

We picked a friend and created a heart together!  This was very fun and they turned out precious!

We made our valentine kids and homemade valentines, too!

We talked about friends and made a friends: can, have, are chart!

We made kids and measured our arm span with pennies, paperclips, cubes, and candy hearts, of course!

We took pictures of ourselves with moustaches for our parents valentines!

Here we are measuring our valentine kids!

Mailing out our cards was fun.....so was receiving them!

Happy Valentines Day!

Mrs. Deramus gave us playdough hearts!

And cotton candy cones!!!!

And LOVE JUICE!!!
