Farm Fun

We have had a bunch of fun with our farm unit!  We got all dolled up in honor of the Washington County Fair!  Here are a few of my precious cowpokes!

We have worked on several farm projects and still have a few more before we "moo-ve" on!

What We've Been Up To!

Our completed letter trees are going up!  Several more have completed their trees since this picture was snapped!  YAY!

We have been super busy in Kindergarten!  I am proud to say that  14 out of my 18 SMARTIES now know every letter and every sound!!!  We have been working on our Chicka Chicka Boom Boom trees!  Here is what they are looking like!

Here is Aaliyah with her completed tree!  When they complete their tree they earn a trip to the treasure chest!  She picked these goofy glasses!  Too Cute!!!

We completed the first page of our Math Scrapbook!  We counted the letters in our names as we added them to a coconut tree!  We have also been graphing!  Check out our coconut graphs!

On to our bear unit!!!  We had a great week reading two of my favorite stories....Brown Bear Brown Bear and Goldilocks and The Three Bears!!!  One of my favorite projects is our Bear Purses!  Each student makes a purse and sequences the characters from Brown Bear!  I LOVE how they turn out!

We also make bears with pattern ties!  We are learning all about ABAB patterns right now so they had to make an ABAB pattern using tiny bears!

Hallway Bulletin Board!

I am SOOO loving these kids that are hanging in the hall right now!  They are almost as cute as the kids in my class!  LOL!

Our Teddy Bear parade was precious!  We had a great time parading the halls with our favorite bears!

We have started doing our Math Stations in the morning and our Literacy Stations in the afternoon!  It is going well! We will be studying all about the farm for the next 3 weeks!  I will be back soon with more "MOO-velous" pictures!

What a week!

We had a great first week of school!  We did A LOT!!!!  Here is glimpse into just SOME of what we did!

We learned how to do our calendar/opening routine on our SMARTboard!  The kids absolutely LOVE it!

We learned how to make "raindrops" of glue....NOT "puddles", by gluing beans on our initials!

We did our first science experiment!  We learned what GREAT scientists do and all about a hypothesis!

"Wheeew!"  All that learning WORE US OUT!  Good thing there are WEEKENDS!

First Day Jitters!!!

Well....we survived the first day of school today!  It really was a fun, busy, TIRING, but great first day!  I have a room full of sweeties and....SMARTIES!  I think my kinder smarties will SLEEP great tonight!  I had one that told me, " I could'nt sleep last night!  I kept laying there thinking of YOU!"  Is that not the cutest!  I told her, "And I could'nt sleep because I kept thinking of YOU!"  Anyway...I think we will crash tonight!!! Here are the new Kindergarten Smarties on their first day of Kindergarten!!!

Meet The Teacher Night Rocked!!!

Yay!!!  I am soo excited about my sweet class!  We had such a great turn-out for open house!  It was wonderful to meet my SMARTIES and their parents!  Thanks so much for coming!  I can't wait to get started!  We are going to begin learning all about our names and reviewing our alphabet letters!  It is going to be an awesome year!!!

My name is Mrs. Deramus and I am so excited that you are going to be in my class this year.  This is my 15 year of teaching!  I hope you and your family have all had a great summer.  I've stayed busy with my boys and all of their summer activities.  This is a picture of my family.

My husband's name is Kevin.  We have two sons.  Jacob will be a sophmore at B.H.S. and Bailey will be in 6th grade at B.M.S.!  I am glad you and your family logged on to check out our class blog.  I can't wait to meet you on August 18 from 4:00-6:00 at Meet the Teacher Night!  Please bring all of your supplies with you that evening so we can get them sorted and put away.  Then you will be all ready for the first day of school!
